I'm using a SoCast website. I'm told that I do not need the plug-in, that all i need is the HTML code for the ad I've created. I'm looking at my ad, but I don't see the option for copying the code.

You can get the HTML version by going to Download > Snippet. Once there, scroll to the bottom and click the "Get the Snippet" button. This will give you snippets of HTML code to use on your site.
